Sue Miles, Business Fundraiser from Julia's House commented -
"Thank you so much to everyone at Oak for the fantastic £410.00 you raised at your Time for Tea event in September. Particular thanks go to Annie Turner, Maureen Perrett and Sandra Moore for arranging your Time for Tea, baking and selling the cakes, Oak have raised more money than any other company just from a cake sale this year which is fantastic!
This amount could cover the cost of more than 13 hours care at the hospice or more than 2 community sessions where 2 carers provide respite care for a child in their own home, giving vital respite for the families.
I wanted to share with you a quote from one of our parents:
At a recent Away Day the the parents of one little girl spoke movingly about their life and the part that Julia's House plays in helping to support them.
Their daughter has a rare genetic, degenerative condition. As a result she is losing her hearing and vision, is tube fed and has problems with her mobility.
Her dad said: "Julia's House make a huge difference to our lives. We are so lucky to have the support of the Julia's House team. It makes all the difference to us as a family - it gives us the emotional lift to get through the days.
Julia's House means more to us than I can put into words. You are keeping families like ours together."
Thank you to all those who came to the hospice on Tuesday and to all the staff at Oak who supported the Time for Tea so generously, for playing your part in helping us to support the families who so desperately need us.
