Father and son combination, Phillip and David Reynolds of Oak Telecom, have begun their London Marathon training programme. They are following Hal Higdon's 18 weeks schedule which, barring illness and injury, should see them complete the distance.

"We're so pleased to have been selected to run for Comms Dealer's chosen charity of Sparks, The Children's Medical Research Charity. This is our first marathon and of course we are officially mad: who in their right minds would go running at 7am in the morning at temperatures of -2c, and run four times a week? That said a friend died this week so we feel privileged to be able to run and to do it for such a worthwhile cause. We'll be here again next month after your wallets have recovered to ask for your generous support and kind sponsorship. We'd like to make this the best year ever for Comms Dealer's sponsorship of Sparks", commented Phil and David.

"Not to put too fine a point on it, but running a marathon is like running a business through a recession, and we've seen so many great performances from the Channel through this recession", said Phil Reynolds.
